IPBrick version 4.3

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.3 include:

  • This new version is equivalent to IPBrick v4.2.3 + all released updates.

    Some of the major improvements are:
    • New VoIP options. Now it is possible to configure several fine tuning options per telephony interface / SIP route / route prefix, as well as several general options as for example global voicemail activation, BRI/PRI ISDN options, etc.
    • New IAX routing options. Now the IPBrick is able to send / receive calls via IAX trunks.
    • New Instant Messaging Server functionalities. The IPbrick now controls the access to the MSN network. Only authorized contacts (localy in the IPBrick or in IPBrick Contacts) will be reachable
    • New Backup options. Now it is possible to backup to Rsync servers or to remote NAS.
    • New Disaster Recovery feature: Now application databases are also backed up and restored.
    • New Kaspersky for Proxy version: 5.5.39
    • New Kaspersky Anti-Spam version: 3.0.278.4
    • New Boot Options: Standard kernel (2.6.19.4) with or without ACPI support, alternative kernel (2.6.22.10) with or without ACPI support

  • To upgrade an IPBrick v4.2.3 to v4.3 it isn't necessary to install an IPBrick v4.3 with the installation CD. This is also possible through the installation of all the available updates for v4.2.3.

Solved issues:

  • Solved problem with access classes when using unlock codes!

Known issues:

  • IMPORTANT: This version has a problem in the default VoIP routing scheme when installed with ISDN BRI cards. To correct this please install update_01-v4.3!
  • The newly available kernel in the IPBrick (2.6.22.10), does not work with ANALOG telephony cards.
  • The call manager does not correctly display the origin of the calls, if the origin is a SIP phone.
  • Changing the network and telephony configurations of IPBrick simultaneously, causes a failure in the startup of ISDN BRI cards. To solve this problem, it's only necessary to force a change in the card configuration in IPBrick web interface.



IPBrick version 4.2.3

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.2.3 include:

  • This new version is equivalent to IPBrick v4.2 + all released updates. Also IPBrick Contacts v1.11 is included in this release.

    Some of the major improvements are:
    • DNS improvements. It's now possible to configure a cname to any records.
    • IPBrick security improvements
    • Proxy improvements: Now it is possible to change the location of the proxy cache to one of the available workareas. Also added a new option to clear the proxy cache
    • VoIP security improvements
    • The navigation in the call statistics web interface is now improved
    • Added support for mail relay with authentication using TLS
    • New domain server functionalities: Options to define the users profile type and their account network drive
    • Terminal server improvements
    • User/Machine information import or export from/to a csv file
    • Reverse proxy functionality in the webserver
    • Email advanced relay: forward emails based on non-existent recipients and also by domain (catchall)
    • Mailinglist integration with IPBrick Contacts
    • MailToFax improvements: It's now possible to send a fax to multiple destinations

  • To upgrade an IPBrick v4.2 to v4.2.3 it isn't necessary to install an IPBrick v4.2.3 with the installation CD. This is also possible through the installation of all the available updates for v4.2 plus IPBrick Contacts v1.11.

Solved issues:

  • Solved timing problem on IPBricks with BRI cards, when using DISA and conference functionalities
  • Fixed problems related with users management that occured if IPBrick was configured in Netbios Client mode
  • Solved problems related with the configuration of the prefix "all" in Routes Management
  • DISA, PSTN Fallback and Access Classes: Issues with the generation of the Dialplan for these options are now solved
  • Corrected ipbricksudo daemon problem which sometimes caused high load on the server
  • Solved logrotate bug which causes problems when rotating logs of some services
  • Corrected ISDN PRI driver, so that SANGOMA and ATCOM cards now operate correctly
  • Corrected ISDN PRI synchronization problem when using multiple PSTN providers

Known issues:

  • Samba ACL support has been removed.  ATTENTION!!
  • The call manager does not correctly display the origin of the calls, if the origin is a SIP phone.

IPBrick version 4.2b

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.2b include:

  • This version is the same as IPBrick 4.2, only the installation procedure has been corrected.

Solved issues:

  • Solved problems when using customized IPBrick installation files (Software RAID, Hard disk partitioning and special install script) edited on Windows stations.

Known issues:

  • The call manager does not correctly display the origin of the calls, if the origin is a SIP phone.
  • Changing the network and telephony configurations of IPBrick simultaneously, causes a failure in the startup of ISDN BRI cards. To solve this problem, it's only necessary to force a change in the card configuration in IPBrick web interface.



IPBrick version 4.2a

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.2a include:

  • This version is the same as IPBrick 4.2, only the installation procedure has been corrected.

Solved issues:

  • Solved problems detecting some SATA hard disks. This would cause IPBrick to not install on the server.

Known issues:

IPBrick version 4.2

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.2 include:

  • Proxy blacklists improvements. New options are now available in the IPBrick WEB interface:
    • When changing the blacklist URL to be used, the new categories are now automatically available in the rules configuration interface.
    • define the number of simultaneous processes to be launched when accessing to web contents (squidGuard processes)
    • Enable/disable cache in the proxy server. If the cache is enabled then its max size can be defined
  • New options where added to the Call Queues.
  • Mail2Fax improvements.
  • Qmail-LDAP integration.
  • New features were added to the Samba service: ACLs and Recycle BIN support.
  • Added support to Windows 2003 R2 integration.
  • New kernel 2.6.19-4.
  • Included the Instant Messaging service (eJabberd).
  • New call management interface (Flash Operator Panel).

Solved issues:

  • Solved problem related to FTP connections to IPBrick
  • Solved problem with the creation of web sites in the IPBrick web interface, where was always necessary to insert an alternative URL address
  • Now the available fallback routes include newly added telephony interfaces
  • Correction of Enum searches
  • Solved problem in the Webmail: It's already possible to send mails with more than 2MB.
  • Multiple fallbacks per VoIP route now work normally after the 2nd fallback
  • Added support to Beronet 2S0 cards.

Known issues:

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.1.1 include:

  • Network interfaces configuration by Macaddress.
  • In the IPBrick installation process it is now possible to customize the partition table, using information from a pendrive.

Solved issues:

  • Correction in the asterisk configuration in order to be able to receive voice calls from ITSP trunks, when the ipbrick is behind NAT.
  • Correction on loading PRI and ANALOG cards upon reboot.
  • Correction of the mapping of remote home directories for IPBrick Master/Slave scenarios.
  • PHP security update.

IPBrick version 4.1

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.1 include:

  • New VoIP options regarding the behaviour of the ISDN ports.
  • Support added for IMAPS and POPS
  • New terminal server interfaces for configurations of individual terminals and to manage supported kernels and operating systems.
  • Fax support added for external modems.
  • Multiple fax lines/numbers are now supported.
  • New FAX functionality: Mail2Fax. Enables users to send faxes using their email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.).
  • New Webserver functionality: It is now possible to create website aliases.
  • Updated Kaspersky Anti-Virus software for Mailserver (5.5.10), Fileserver (5.0.6.0) and Proxy (5.5.14).

Solved issues:

  • Fixed voice conference problem.
  • Fixed problem with ENUM lookup.
  • Fixed problem with voip client registration.
  • Fixed PPPoE functionality.
  • Corrected problem in data synchronization between IPBrick Servers in Master/Slave architectures.

  • The ipbrick interface now correctly detects when the same ip/network adress is being inserted in different network interfaces.

IPBrick version 4.1-beta5

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.1-beta5 include:

  • New PBX functionality: Call queues
  • ENUM lookup functionality for VoIP routes

Solved issues:

  • Problem with authentication in FTP in transparent mode is now solved
  • VoIP domains can now contain the "-" character
  • Solved the problem with sound packets when router's with DNAT exist in front of the IPBrick.

Known issues:

  • Call conference is not working
  • Multiple fallbacks per VoIP route fail after the 2nd fallback
  • Registration of voip clients using the SIP Proxy as the DNS hostname of the voip server fails. It only works if you insert the SIP Proxy as an IP or domain name.
  • Failure in the support of Beronet 2S0 cards.



IPBrick version 4.1-beta4

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.1-beta4 include:

  • New PBX functionality: DISA.
  • New General VoIP options available.
  • PBX Access Classes can be unlocked with a security code.
  • New interface for service routing.
  • New Kaspersky Anti Spam version 3.0.
  • New interface to configure the passwords of IPBrick system users.
  • It's now possible to get a CSV file with the call statistics.

Solved issues:

  • Fixed voicemail problem related with a timeout parameter
  • The parsing script of Squid's statistic is now correct
  • Fallback routes are now generated
  • Solved problems related with javascript when IPBrick web interface is in french

Known issues:

  • Call conference is not working
  • Multiple fallbacks per VoIP route fail after the 2nd fallback
  • Voip communication fails if destination domain contains the "-" character
  • When using proxy, authenticated ftp connections fail if login contains the "@" character

  • Various route generation errors occur when using telehony cards of different technology types.

Solved issues:

  • Fixed syntax validation when adding e-mail addresses to mailing lists.
  • Fixed bug in which the quota service started despite being ordered to stopped.
  • The log rotation script of kav4proxy caused it to start despite being disabled.
  • The load order of the HTTPS modules was corrected.
  • Some improvements were made to the PHP configuration file in order to increase its security.
  • The VoIP/telephony routes fallback mechanism was improved.
  • Fixed bug when an IVR shortcuts to an external SIP address.
  • Fixed error in which entry routes to the dynamic conferencing functionality were not being generated.
  • The OpenSER routing script now permits it to respond to OPTION SIP messages.
  • Fixed the mISDN Asterisk channel driver in order to support newer driver versions.
  • A bug was corrected in which an "all" route was generated together with the default route.

IPBrick version 4.1-alpha1

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.1-alpha1 include:

  • Now it's possible to set up multiple telephony interfaces (not only PBX and PSTN) and to define routes with them. IPBrick can also accept incoming INTERNET routes with destination to remote (payed) locations, based on an authorized peers list.
  • New postrouting prefix option on the VoIP routes management interface.
  • Asterisk call detail records are now stored in MySQL.
  • New Fax configuration web interface.
  • Kernel update/optimization from 4.0.2 (unnecessary drivers removed, new network interface drivers added).

IPBrick version 4.0.2

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.0.2 include:

  • The ordering of users/groups lists can now be made by field.
  • The structure of the web server was changed, in order to allow the listing and modifying of the IPBrick's default sites.
  • It is now possible to do software updates via web interface.
  • The boot loader was changed from Lilo to Grub
  • Added support for fakeraid controllers (new 2.6.16 kernel)
  • Usernames can now contain characters with accentuation.
  • It's now possible to configure VoIP routes based on user/pass authentication.

Solved issues:

  • Sites inserted in the IPBrick now check for .htaccess credentials.
  • Problem with multiple PPTP connections solved.
  • DNS server crash problem corrected.
  • Inbound SIP routes bug corrected. It's now possible to receive incoming calls from Internet and redirect them to a legacy PBX connected to IPBrick.
  • Corrected IPSec rules bug.
  • Accepting of overlapdial calls now enabled.

IPBrick version 4.0

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 4.0 include:

  • Major base system upgrade. Now Debian Sarge 3.1a.
  • Integration of LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project) (no web interface available).
  • Asterisk integration. It is possible to interconnect conventional telephony equipment (PBX, PSTN lines, etc...) with VoIP telephony, using IPBrick as a gateway and SIP proxy server.
  • Integration of Biometric authentication for Domain access.
  • New option, which allows the choice between a SMP-enabled kernel and non-SMP kernel. This is needed for compatibility with the Asterisk ISDN layer.
  • New proxy functionalities, including blacklists, cache peer operation and squidguard integration.
  • Time zone configuration interface.
  • New authentication mode: AD Domain Member.
  • VPN SSL certificates are now stored in the IPBrick management database and thus maintained in the disaster recovery procedure.
  • New Kaspersky for ICAP version (5.0.9/alpha).

Solved issues:

  • Correction of firewall rules in order to accept sound packets from all source ports.
  • User's mail forward information is now treated correctly.
  • Improvement in Samba server management, more reloads are executed instead of restarts.
  • When defining IP routes, the netmask is now correctly processed.
  • Correction in the serial number of the DNS service.
  • Now different network interfaces cannot share an IP of the same network.
  • Correction of the Samba server operation when in LDAP client authentication mode.

Known issues:

  • Changes in server name will cause configuration issues if the server name is a substring of the domain name.
  • LDAP user roaming does not operate well with PBX's connected directed to the IPBrick.



IPBrick version 3.2.2

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 3.2.2 include:

  • A new option was placed to activate/deactivate the RTP Proxy when defining VoIP routes to ISPs.
  • It's now possible to define if existing VoIP routes correspond to ingresses or egresses.
  • Two new parameters were added to the VoIP Options menu: one allows IPBrick to be defined as an internal VoIP server only, and the other can be used to modify the connection timeout value.
  • It's now possible to create attendance sequences associated with a VoIP alias that correspond to an outside SIP address. This feature is only available if the VoIP option "internal VoIP server only" is set to "yes".
  • IPBrick now contains a 30 day long trial license

Solved issues:

  • The graphical layout of the menu was corrected since the font size was very small.
  • The configuration listing stored in the pendrive were corrected.
  • An error that was occurring when replacing Kaspersky Mail Server/Anti-Spam configurations was corrected.
  • When the selected authentication method is "WinServer", IPBrick is now able to correctly obtain the Windows Server users and groups.
  • In the VoIP Route Management section, a prefix associated with an ISP directed route that is itself a substring of another prefix (subprefix) is now correctly processed.
  • The LDAP contacts defined in IPContactos (Webmail) are now correctly displayed. The used character coding was corrected.

Known issues:

  • Configure different interfaces with IP addresses from the same subnet can cause misconfiguration in some IPBrick services.
  • Changes in server name will cause configuration issues if the server name is a substring of the domain name.



IPBrick Version 3.2.1

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 3.2.1 include:

  • Upgrade of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Mail Server software from version 5.5.2 to 5.5.3.

Solved issues:

  • Problems sending email after activating a Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mail Server license.

Known issues:

  • Configure different interfaces with IP addresses from the same subnet can cause misconfiguration in some IPBrick services.

IPBrick Version 3.2

 
   

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 3.2 include:

  • Kaspersky ICAP for proxy server with virus statistics.
  • Upgrade of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Mail Server software from version 5.0.5 to 5.5.2.
  • Web site management is now done with FTP protocol.
  • It is possible to configure IPBrick to be managed also from the public interface (Internet).
  • Attendance sequences in VoIP phone calls.
  • Installation CD includes a trial version license valid for 15 days.
  • It is possible to configure public interfaces as Ethernet or PPPoE.

Solved issues:

  • Security issues identified by the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto security department were fixed.
  • Enhancement of performance when replacing or updating settings.
