IPBrick version 5.2

 
   

ATTENTION:
  • IPBrick v5.2 does not include MySQL DataBase Server.
  • Kaspersky for Samba is not supported in this version, since Kaspersky Labs has no software release for this product compatible with the Samba Server v3.4.3 installed in IPBrick v5.2.
  • Due to several software upgrade done by this update, it may require to regenerate your IPBrick licence. If this is the case, please contact us (licence@ipbrick.com) in order to request a new licence.

 

Important migration notes:

  • To upgrade an IPBrick v5.1 to v5.2 it isn't necessary to install an IPBrick v5.2 with the installation CD. This is also possible through the installation of all the available updates for v5.1.
  • When migrating to this new version using the installation CD, DO NOT proceed before reading the migration manual Update_to_IPBrickv5.2

Additional Features introduced in IPBrick 5.2 include:

  • This new version is equivalent to IPBrick v5.1 + all released updates.

      • New VoIP users management web interface.
      • Access class management is now also user-oriented.

      • Call recording improvements.
      • New call queue options.
      • New built-in PBX features:
        • Call Forwarding.

    • UCoIP improvements:
      • New UCoIP webpage.
      • New Java based WebPhone which is supported in all browsers supporting Java.
    • Adds support for SpamAssassin and ClamAV.
    • New IPBrick Contacts version 3.1.
    • New IPBrick Calendar v1.2.b7.
    • Adds support for mailing lists remote management (XML-RPC).
    • New option to manage the Personal Information Manager (PIM) synchronization server (enable/disable or stop/start).
    • Adds support for IPBrick webservices.
    • Increases security for SMTP service.
    • Increases security for web server.
    • High Availability improvements.
    • Possibility of rolling back configurations.
    • Added a description field to every saved configuration.
    • Option to enable real-time blacklists (RBL) in E-mail.
    • New proxy features:
      • New option to configure http port.
      • New option to configure allowed ports.
      • Log management mechanism improvements.
    • Machines management improvement: it's now possible to assign an IP address of any network defined as a DNS reverse zone.
    • Adds support for mass operations in the Advanced Configurations for DNS, DHCP, VOIP and LDAP services.
    • New Ethernet card link status indicator in the IPBrick web interface.
    • New fax service options and improvements.
    • Major system software updates
      • New IPBrick Kernel version 2.6.30.10.
      • New Asterisk 1.4.28.
      • New Ejabberd v2.0.1
      • New Samba version 3.4.3.
      • New Kaspersky Anti-Virus software version 5.6.39.

Solved issues:

  • Solves IPBrick.GT compatibility issue with analog and pri ISDN cards on the same appliance.
  • Solves issue between WebChat and the newest Firefox versions (>=3.0.6).
  • Solves issue of user's default email, detected when IPBrick is in AD Member mode.
  • Solved other minor issues.

Known Issues:

  • Some drivers might not be correctly loaded preventing the right detection of some hardware components. Possible hardware components that might not be detected:
    • Ethernet controller Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5706
    • Ethernet controller Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5708
    • Ethernet controller Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709
    • Ethernet controller Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5716
    Usually, Broadcom Ethernet controllers are used in Dell, IBM and HP servers. If you have an IPBrick server installed on a server from these manufacters and you have got a problem with network interface cards detection, please follow this procedure: bnx2_procedure
